Kevin and Quintin have a great time together! Quintin's favorite game with Daddy is "Weeeeeeee" -- a spinning game that makes Mommy sick just watching! Quintin also rides daddy like a horse, goes for fun rides in the "basset" (a red cloth basket used for storing toys), and gallops around the house (yelling excitedly the whole while!). Kevin has been home from work all week on a "vacation" (it's not been much of a break, since he's spent the entire time working on big home improvement projects -- we'll post picts!). Quintin has loved the extra Daddy time, and has been taking full advantage of it by insisting that Kevin carry him around everywhere whenever he's in the house :-). This morning, I asked Quintin what he'd like for breakfast and, at his request, got out some strawberry yogart. I was, frankly, a bit annoyed when he later yelled, "NO!" to the yogart he'd just asked for (we were in a hurry to leave the house). Well, DADDY offered the yogart instead and Quintin happily grabbed it from him! He also wanted DADDY to change his diaper, get him dressed, and tie his shoes! I loved watching Kevin commit these simple acts of care for our son, the obvious joy it brought them both, and the realization that they were both getting some much needed male bonding time!
Kevin took Quintin to story hour at the library with "Auntie" Coral and Holden, Sarah, and Mrs. Holden -- the guest of honor was Santa Claus, a special treat! Although Quintin loved singing and dancing with the other kids (Auntie Coral takes him each week, and he's learned a lot of the songs), he was NOT happy about the strange man in the red suit and was certainly NOT going to sit on his lap! Auntie Coral got a few picts, which I'll get and post here later, of Quintin sitting on Daddy's lap next to Santa. Quintin is leaning as far from him as is physically possible, lol!
